Pourquoi a-t’on oublié Gong ? Trop marqué « baba cool » ?) Alors les Beatles, Hendrix et Janis Joplin aux Orties aussi. Les Clash trop punk ?. Le Velvet trop Warholien ? ON SE FOUT DES EPOQUES pourvu qu’on reste aux aguets des nouvelles et bonnes musiques qui sortent aujourd’hui: rock, rap, electro, punk tzigane ou nuevo flamenco…. Tendez l’oreille. GONG était à ses débuts un TRES BON GROUPE ET PIS C’EST TOUT .

Cet album n’a pas (trop) pris de ride. On pressent « You » que je mets au sommet de la pile.

Tout est là dans cet opus de Gong. Le groupe rivalise de créatitvité autant en ce qui concerne la musique que le concept et les textes, tous deux assez farfelus. Les instrumentations surprennent, nous emportent au sommet d’une vague psychédélique à souhait, qui n’est pas sans rappeler l’oeuvre de Brainticket ou de Syd Barret. Mais la touche spéciale c’est bien sûr ce groove inimitable que seul Gong sait cuisiner.
